Lola was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Hamilton, her second husband Bruce, a daughter-in-law Reba Given, brothers William Butcher, Charles Butcher, Newman Butcher, Herbert Butcher, Lloyd Butcher and Orlan Butcher, and sister Eunice Butcher Doddrill. At the time of her death she was a member of South Street Christian Church in Springfield. A longtime member of Hope Baptist Church in Frametown, she served for several years on the General Board of the American Baptist Churches. She was a homemaker and a faithful Christian. For many years she wrote the column “Lola’s World” in the Braxton Citizens News. She also was interested in politics and served as a poll worker on election days. Lola had a keen interest in genealogy and was a charter member of the Elk River Chapter of DAR. After Ham’s death she married James Bruce Given in 1959 and moved to the family farm at Frametown. During WWII she was a “Rosie the Riveter,” building planes at a factory in Akron, OH. In 1938 she married Hamilton Given, and they had one son, Earl.
